Wine, coffee, tea, urine, chocolate, sweets, blood, glue, egg, milk, vomit, fats, tar, wax, chewing gum, oil, shoe polish – all quite harmless! But, if you get them on your carpets or sofas, they can be a real headache to remove.

It is vital to deal with stains as quickly as possible.

• Scrape up or blot up any excess as quickly as possible
• Blot – NEVER rub or scrub
• Always work from the outside of the stain inward to avoid spreading
• Do not use inappropriate detergents i.e. washing up liquid, wash powders, household bleach, disinfectants
• Always apply any cleaning fluids to the absorbent spotting material not directly onto the carpet or fabric
• Do not over wet into backing materials

 

Unfortunately, there can never be a guarantee of complete removal of a stain. But these basic tips will give us the best possible chance of success when we arrive to carry out professional cleaning.
